Praying for our Borders

Watching the news these days about ISIS and the reality of our porous southern border can cause many of us to fear.  We react sometimes in judgment against our government for not securing the borders better, feeling helpless and ready to blame.  But we do have a part to play.  We can pray.

“God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love and a sound mind.”  2 Timothy 1:7

We don’t need to be victims, but to get on our knees and be victors as we cry out to God to protect our borders.  This is the time for us as Christians to rise up, to pray and to see God move on behalf of His people.  Pray that evil will be exposed and halted from their schemes.  Pray for God’s presence to fill our land and cover our borders.  Let a move of God sweep our nation and overflow in blessing to our surrounding nations.  Now is the time!

Is there a portion of the border that God is calling you to “guard” through your prayers?  Do you live near a border?  Maybe God is calling you to a prayer walk/drive or journey.  My oldest son just moved to San Diego – I think that’s a good place to start for me!  Happy praying!

“He makes peace in your borders…” Psalm 147:14
