Courts of Heaven Prayers

A year or so ago, I was introduced to Robert Henderson’s teachings on the courts of Heaven and it had a profound impact in my prayer life.  For many years, there’s been a lot of emphasis in the church on spiritual warfare techniques that have been very powerful.  Yet, many feel not so victorious and often weary in the battle.  Coming to understand the court system of Heaven has led to praying differently.

Throughout Scripture are references to the legal system in heaven (Isaiah 33:22, Daniel 7:9, 10, 22; Luke 18:1-8, Hebrews 7:25) but we often miss them and the context for our lives today.  The protocol for a courtroom is different than that of the battlefield.  Learning to come to the courts of heaven first to receive the legal ground for the battle, means we have more victory – fighting smarter, not harder.

Praying in the courts of Heaven is simply coming to our Father as the Judge and honoring Him through praise and worship.  Then we present our appeal for help and ask Him to show us any area where the enemy  has legal rights that are blocking our prayer (see Daniel’s example in Daniel 9).  This may include generational issues, or our own person sin or the “witness” or our own mouths.  When we speak negatively, we give the enemy legal ground to block God’s will in our lives.  Whatever God shows us, we can then repent and receive the cleansing from Jesus’ blood.  Then we listen to hear God’s decrees for our victory and agree and declare with Him.  Next week I will share how to the Lord’s Prayer follows this model.

If you live in the Sacramento region, we will be having a conference this week on this very topic with Robert Henderson.  Go to  for more information!  Look forward to seeing you then!

Trauma Prayer

Crying woman

All of us have experienced some sort of trauma throughout our lives.  Times of difficulty are precisely when the enemy wants to get a foothold in our lives through the pain.  The good news is that Jesus is in the business of restoration!

Recently, I was sent an email with a link to the Trauma Prayer by Jim Banks and found it a powerful tool as well as very soothing.  In fact, one time I listened to it, I fell asleep!  I knew then it wasn’t so much about my mind hearing it, but my spirit being able to absorb it, while my body rested.  It’s something that you can listen to more than once as each time God is bringing a deeper level of healing to the areas of your life impacted by pain. I believe it can bring breakthrough for those suffering the effects of any kind of trauma.

You can find more information about this powerful prayer by clicking here:  They also have a prayer for soldiers with PTSD.

Do you know someone struggling with trauma?  Share this post with them!

The Increase of His Government – The Power of Corporate Prayer

Vickie-Final for email (2)

Have you ever wondered what Jesus meant when He warned about the “leaven of the Pharisees and the leaven of Herod” in Mark 8:13?  I believe He was referring to not just the religious spirit manifested in the Pharisees, but also the political spirit operating in Herod.  Until recently, I’d not thought much of what a political spirit is, but observing both the unrest in our country and what is happening in the church, I believe it’s something we need to understand and how to repent and pray against it.

I want to personally invite you to our upcoming conference called, “The Increase of His government” where we will be exploring what the political spirit is, how it functions to destroy the destiny of God’s people, how it works in our government and the church and how we can combat it.  Please join us February 25-27, 2016 at The Rock of Roseville, 725 Vernon St, Roseville, Ca.  Click here to register!  We will also be signing a declaration of standing with Israel along with praying and repenting for the political spirit.  Our speakers will include a former Muslim and several key national intercession leaders.  Can’t make it?  We will have CD’s available after the conference.  Sign up today!

Prayer Following a Trip

Map of Uruguay

Been on a trip lately?  Often we don’t pay attention to the spiritual atmosphere around us or the potential impact it could have on us.  From the book of Daniel, we see that there are principalities and spiritual forces over particular regions.  When we travel, if we are sensitive to it, we might feel a “lightening” of the battle we are used to, but may also encounter new forces that we hadn’t experienced before.  When returning from a trip, whether out of state or around the world, it’s a good idea to do some spiritual “cleaning”.

Here’s a simple prayer to pray:

“In the name of Jesus Christ, I brush off any negative effects of my trip.  I break communication between any spirits where I was and any correspondence of spirits here.  Thank you, Jesus for cleansing me with Your blood from anything I might have encountered in the atmosphere I traveled in.  Thank you, Father, for releasing me from any negative residue or effect, in Jesus’ name, amen.”

Prayer Following Ministry

Cleansing prayer after ministry is often overlooked.  We forget that we’ve been in a spiritual battle and that there can be backlash and other ways the enemy would like to get to us after a powerful time of prayer.  This prayer by Dr. Francis MacNutt is a helpful tool if you are involved in healing prayer ministry.  You might want to adapt it for other forms of ministry you are involved in.

But remember these aren’t magic formulas, but guides to help us in connecting with God and engage in good spiritual hygiene.  Next time after you’ve finished praying for someone, take some time to pray this prayer!

Lord Jesus, thank you for sharing with us your wonderful ministry of healing and deliverance.  Thank you for the healings we have seen  and experienced today.

We realize that the sickness and evil we encounter is more than our humanity can bear, so cleanse us of any sadness, negativity or despair that we may have picked up. If our ministry has tempted us to anger, impatience or lust, cleanse us of those temptations and replace them with love, joy and peace.

If any evil spirits have attached themselves to us or oppressed us in any way, we command you to depart now and go straight to Jesus Christ for Him to deal with you as He will.

Come Holy Spirit: renew us – fill us anew with your power, your life and your joy.  Strengthen us where we have felt weak and clothe us with your light.  Fill us with life, Lord Jesus, please send your holy  angels to minister to us and our families-guard us and protect us from all sickness, harm and accidents.

We praise you now and forever, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, and we ask these things in Jesus’ holy name that He may be glorified.  Amen.

Prayer Before Ministry

Women talking together

Heading into a prayer session for someone?  Here’s a great prayer to pray beforehand to prepare from Christian Healing Ministries:

In the name of Jesus Christ and by the power of the cross and His blood, we bind up the powers of earth, air water, fire, the netherworld and the satanic forces of nature.

We break any curses, hexes or spells sent against us and declare them null and voice.  We break the assignments of any spirits sent against us and send them to Jesus to deal with them as He will.  Lord, we ask You to bless our enemies by sending Your Holy Spirit to lead them to repentance and conversion.

Furthermore, we bind all interaction and communication in the world of evil spirits as it affects us and our ministry.

We ask for the protection of the shed blood of Jesus Christ over___________________.

Thank, Lord, for Your protection and sending Your angels to help us in the battle.  We ask You to guide us in our prayers: share with us Your Spirit’s power and compassion.  Amen.

Creative Ornament Prayers

Candles and pinecones

Got a gift exchange coming up?  Consider slipping a written prayer in as a surprise for the person you’re giving it to.

If you are the organizer, ask each person to bring an ornament with a prayer request inside – commit to pray for one another through the year.

Consider each person in the family writing a prayer request and putting in an ornament.  Next year when you decorate, check the prayer requests and rejoice how God has answered them over the past year.  Make it a powerful family tradition!

Ask God to give you other creative ways to pray during this season!!

Prayer Apps

give him 15

I love how technology can help us connect with one another and with God!  Here’s a new prayer app by Dutch Sheets called “Give Him 15”.  It’s a national call to spend at least 15 minutes a day praying for our country.  When you download the app, it gives you a short thought, some prayer points as well as a daily short prayer that we can be praying in unity.  These were developed by people all over the country from various streams, but coming together daily to pray a united prayer.  Please consider joining in!  I’ve copied in the prayer points for today:

First Thanksgiving

“Our harvest being gotten in, our Governor sent four men (bird hunting) so that we might…rejoice together after we had gathered the fruit of our labors.  Many of the Indians came amongst us and …for three days we entertained and feasted…by the goodness of God we are…far from want.”

Pilgrim Edward Winslow describes above the Pilgrim’s day of thanks after a long journey and a year so hard that over half of their numbers perished.  Instead of growing bitter, they held a feast, invited the neighbors who helped them survive, the Native Americans, and thanked God for their bounty.

Give Him 15 minutes in prayer:

  •  Ask the Lord to forgive you when life is hard and you forget to thank Him for the blessings you have in the midst of pain.
  • Thank Him for opening your eyes to all that He does to care for you daily.
  • Ask the Lord to bless every person you can think of.  He cares for them like He cares for you.  Is there something kind you can do for a neighbor?

A prayer you can pray:

Dear Lord, thank You for giving me a thankful heart.  Forgive me when I forget how good You are to me, even though sometimes life is hard.  Help me to remember others who are in a difficult place.  If there is something I can do to help them, please show me how.  In the Name of Jesus, Amen.

Today’s Decree:

I decree that You are good to me and taking care of me, even when life’s circumstances make it hard for me to see it.  Thank You, Lord!

52 Day Prayer Focus, Part 3

Continuing the 52-day prayer focus – 14 Days to triumph!  Focusing on meditating on God’s word and walking in His Spirit!

Day 1: Read, Meditate, and Memorize 1 Thess. 5:23. Be whole!  And may the God of peace Himself sanctify you through and through [separate you from profane things, make you pure and wholly consecrated to God]; and may your spirit and soul and body be preserved sound and complete [and found] blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah).”

Day 2
: Read Genesis 1:26 through Genesis 3
. Satan wants you to believe that God is not directing you, but God created you to walk with you. The enemy also wants you to think that God is holding out on you. This is what he did to the Woman in the garden as he manipulated her desires. Ask God to break any manipulation that is aligned with your desires. Ask the Lord to let you hear Him in the cool of the day!

Day 3
: Read Psalm 37
. Be sure your desires are aligned correctly. Temptation is linked to desires that are not within God’s boundaries. Your desires must be sanctified to walk in the Spirit.

Day 4
: Re-read Genesis 2:7. Read John 20:20-22.
Let Him renew your spirit by the breath of His Spirit, and then allow Him to re-commission you. “Then the Lord God formed man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath or spirit of life, and man became a living being.”  “So saying, He showed them His hands and His side.  And when the disciples saw the Lord, they were filled with joy (delight, exultation, ecstasy, rapture).  Then Jesus said to them again, ‘Peace to you!  [Just] as the Father has sent Me forth, so I am sending you.’  And having said this, He breathed on them and said to them, ‘Receive the Holy Spirit!’”

Day 5
: Read Psalm 23
. This is a Psalm of Prosperity. Your path should be prosperous when you walk in the Spirit. Read this Psalm out loud three times! Psalm 23 comforts you in distress and affliction as He leads you in paths of righteousness for His name’s sake.  In Hebrew, the word “path” is ‘agol, which means to be round or a cycle. He guides us in the cycles of righteousness.  This is linked with the timing of the Feasts.  Chag, or festival, means to make a cycle.  If we understand the feast, then we understand cycles.  We can be led properly, prosper and not have lack. If we stay in God’s timing, we prosper.  Walk in the Spirit on your PATH! Jehovah Rohi causes you to SEE your path!

Day 6
: Read Galatians 3:4-5 and Galatians 5, especially verse 16 and 25!
Look at the circumstances that you have been through and are going through. Ask the Holy Spirit to show you how He has worked and is working in you.  Feel His Spirit.  Enter into the fruit of His Spirit. Evaluate His fruit.  Walk and live in the Spirit.

Day 7
: Read and memorize Eph. 1:3-6.Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love, having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will, to the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He made us accepted in the Beloved.” Look up into Heaven and see all your spiritual blessings for your bloodlines. Claim them all, even the ones other generations did not claim. Walk in a way that they will manifest.

Day 8
: Read Is. 55, and Mt. 16
. Lean not on your own understanding. His thoughts are not your thoughts. See from His perspective. His word will not return void. Notice how Peter operated. He had great revelation, and then his mind and emotions kicked in and were occupied by Satan. Ask the Lord to bring your mind and emotions under control.

Day 9
: Read Ezekiel 36 – 37.
As you read these chapters, know that the Lord is speaking and reiterating His promise for your future. He wants to break all scattering in your life. He wants to break all hope deferred. He wants you to recognize His power to perform His word!

Day 10
Read James 5, and Matthew 4. The Word of God tells us to submit ourselves to God, draw near to Him, and then resist the devil. As we worship and submit ourselves to a Holy God, we can come into intimate contact with Him. Even though we walk here on the earth in our worshipful submission, we ascend into Heaven. As we individually seek God and ascend into the Throne Room, we can hear the sound of Heaven in our spirit man on Earth. Be sure to deal with any area where you are not operating in submission. Resist Satan’s temptation in your wilderness. Remember, the Spirit of God led Jesus into the wilderness. Stop in the midst of your hard situation and see the Spirit’s leading.

Day 11
: Read Psalm 34, and Hebrews 1, especially verse 14. Praise God for the angels that are encamping around you. Declare that these ministering spirits will transcend to the natural realm from the spiritual realm. As we ascend in worship, we also know that a portal opens for angelic visitation. During our times of prayer and crying out to God, during those times when we worship with abandonment as David did, we enter the realm of the spirit. Angels help to bring messages and direct us. Don’t negate the angels around you!

Day 12
: Read Luke 10.
Ask the Lord to remove all distractions that are robbing the best for you and your family. Ask the Lord to cause your will to realign so that you choose the best that He has for you. Quit swatting at gnats. Ask the Lord to teach you about His BEST!

Day 13
Read Hebrews 4 – 5, and memorize Hebrews 5:14. Let the Word divide asunder your soul and spirit to know His will. Ask the Lord to release discernment in you.

Day 14
: Read Romans 8.
Ask the Lord to give you a new, triumphant spirit. Read this chapter three times. Ask the Lord for your spirit to be quickened by His Spirit.
